CK57

designed in 1957 by Czesław Knothe
industrially produced for the first time since 2023

CK57 is one of the flagship designs of Czesław Knothe, an outstanding Polish interior and furniture designer, a long-standing member and later president of the ŁAD Artists’ Co-operative, an institution bringing together icons of Polish modernist design. Like every piece of his furniture, it combines aesthetics with the highest quality of workmanship and maximum functionality. These qualities made Czesław Knothe’s designs popular and recognised, not only in his own country, but also in other countries.

The design of CK57 was created in the late 1950s, becoming a permanent part of the canon of Polish Modernism. It combines in a harmonious way the designer’s two favourite materials: wood and fabric, which, contrasting in texture, complement each other. The shape of the furniture is very balanced, juxtaposing a large, straight seat and slender, rounded supports. This armchair will perfectly fit into many types of interiors, offering maximum comfort, a simple yet aesthetically pleasing finishand the highest quality materials.
